Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Day Cream 50ml, £29.99

New Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream and Dark Circle Correcting Eye Swirl are the perfect regimen partners for luminous skin. Day after day, skin appears visibly energised and more even, while the look of dark spots and discolouration is reduced. Penetrates 10 layers, deep into the skin’s surface and renews it layer by layer to reveal more even, luminous pearl glowing skin. Apply morning and evening.” (Boots.com)

With continual use my complexion has brightened quite a lot over the last few weeks. I am so pleased with the results. My skin type is dry and uneven skin tone around my mouth, clog prone and sensitive. This cream has improved the tone considerably and hydrates well without being too thick. I use very little and never feel I have slick of cream on my face and at the same time this keeps my skin hydrated well all day. This is going on my repurchase list, as I have seen such great result.

There is one negative… This day cream does not have any SPF, so if I don’t have any SPF in my makeup I have to go over the cream with a light sunscreen like Neutrogena sheer touch, as it’s the only one that goes on well on top of other products whilst leaving a good base for makeup.

Olay Regenerist Luminous Anti-Dark Circle Correcting Eye Treatment 15ml, £29.99

“A distinctive dual-swirl gel and cream brightening formula to hydrate and reduce the appearance of dark circles. Apply morning and evening around the eye area after Skin Tone Perfecting Cream.” (Boots.com)

I have been using the Olay Regenerist line for years but this is the first time I have used a eye product as the price point is close to department store products, but now that I have tried this I know they are worth it. They absorb really quickly and brightened my undereye area within a few days of use! Also, my concealor goes on smoother ontop of this eye cream, so fab bonus. The only negative is the fussy packaging, as I travel the bottle is bulky for a eye cream and the lid has a tendency to pop off in transit… Other than that I would highly recommend for brightening dark circles!

L’Oréal Age perfect Extraordinary Oil & Oil-cream

L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Extraordinary Oil 30ml, £19.99

Extraordinary oil is a pleasure to apply, it has a distinct spa massage oil scent, feels quite luxurious for the price and is comparable to higher end face oils I have tried in the past.

How I apply this: taking a few drops in the palm of my hand, warm through my hands and then press the oil onto the face, being careful not to rub.

If I want to do a face massage after a relaxing bath I will take 5-6 drops, press first onto my face and gently massage – I like doing this when I feel tension in my face – as I have a awful habit of frowning when I am working on my computer.

I have replaced my Josie Maran argan oil and Trilogy oil with this for 2 weeks now and am very happy with the results this oil has provided. My skin is much more hydrated, looks less dull and I have found that my base makeup is applying better too. Another bonus for me is that I can use this during the day time as it is much lighter in texture than the face oils I have used before.

There is one negative… the bottle is clear and so I have been keeping it in a dark area on my vanity to keep it from spoiling. I will continue to purchase the Trilogy oil as I like the renewing effects it gives but most likely stop buying the Josie Maran oil as I feel Extraordinary oil does the same job but at a lower price point.

L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Extraordinary Oil-cream 50ml, £14.99IMG_6936

I have been following Extraordinary oil with this oil-cream and have found it to be very rich and, again, with quite a luxurious, albeit stronger, spa massage oil scent. Very little goes a long way as there is a lot of slip to the texture of Extraordinary oil-cream, and after using this for 1 week I must say that it is too rich for my skin and left my face feeling like a oil-slick. I also have had a few breakouts, being breakout prone this is something I experience with many products and does not mean this would cause breakouts in everyone, but if you are prone to breakouts I would say it may be best to try the face oil alone first.

Using the oil on its own I have found this to be enough moisture for my PM skincare routine. My mum has already expressed that she would like to give this line a try, so I will be passing the cream on to her to try hoping she will have better results.
