L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser Renew Peeling Lotion Night, £24.99 (currently£16.66 on offer)

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Laser Renew Peeling Lotion (Left) and Global Care Day SPF25 (Right)

This is like a emulsion/toner, and if you know the purpose of Alpha H Liquid Gold then you will be pleased to hear this is like a drugstore version of the cult favourite. It isn’t much cheaper, but seen as it will be stocked in boots makes it more readily available, and boots always have those offers that suck us in. I think this is not as strong – 3% glycolic acid – as Liquid gold as it doesn’t sting on application at all, so perfect for me as my skin could not tolerate Liquid Gold without a reaction or irritation bumps (luckily I had a sample to try).

How I apply this: Soak a cotton round and sweep on cleansed dry face, being careful not to rub. 2-3 times a week. I have no idea if it is ok to apply anything after this, but I have had great results with this alone on my skin overnight. My skin does not feel uncomfortable or dry, but like I have applied a thin layer of mask. This makes my skin glow in the morning, dark marks from breakouts are fading quicker after I started using this and dry patches have now been cleared  – yay! *Important: Use a high SPF containing product in the daytime, I use a Neutrogena Sheer touch SPF70 under makeup or Avene SPF30 which I reapply after 2-3 hours if I am out all day.

The bottle design is perfect, the bottle can be squeezed to dispense product on to a cotton round with ease without spilling or over dispensing. The feel of the liquid is slightly slippery, so it is very easy to apply smoothly.

Here is the product description from boots.com:

“Introducing Revitalift Laser Renew Anti-Wrinkle + Anti-Dark Spot skincare regime. Helps stimulate skin surface cell renewal leaving your skin’s past behind. With Glycolic Acid, a key ingredient used by dermatologists for peeling treatments. Proven Effectiveness. Wrinkles appear reduced. I have been using this and your review is the first one I have found (which I find crazy given the amount of advertising this has had) The reason I was looking for a review was to try and clarify if I am supposed to use a night cream or serum or anything after using this…. I started off for a few nights just using on own, but I couldn’t cold turkey my night creams and serum altogether, try as I might! So currently am using this when I get home from work and then later on at bed time, been doing my usual skincare regime. Seems to be alright that way. My skin likes it! Would be interested to hear others feedback! My skin is prone to red bumps and irritation, but I have milia around the eye area and thought that this coupled with regular exfoliation might blitz them. Will keep you posted!

    • That sounds like a good idea, Mina. So you are using this like a mask, much like the concept of Sunday Riley Good Genes (which I love for fading marks and reducing under the skin red bumps). Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to hearing how you get on 🙂

Love using the L’Oreal peeling lotion my question is can I use the night cream after using th peeling lotion at night or do I just use thr purling lotion. I tend to have big brown spots on my face my. My mother and daughter s also tend to be getting brown spots on their faces. Must we use Age Perfect cell renew day cream
The bottom line is do I use a night cream after the peeling lotion

    • I personally don’t, and am afraid am not familiar with the night cream. A quick call to loreal would be best I would say 🙂 hope you find something that works soon!
